Introduction to the Program

The purpose of the "Graduate Student Travel Grant Program" at the 2026 IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid Synchronized Measurements & Analytics (SGSMA) is to encourage graduate students' attendance and presentation of their research to a broad audience from industry, government and academia. The program provides free registration and accommodation for the selected students. Students whose paper or poster are accepted are given priority in the final selection. The number of the student travel grants is limited and the awardees will be selected on the first come first serve basis.

In selecting the awardees, the following criteria will be used:

  • Membership in the IEEE
  • Authors/co-authors of accepted papers or poster presentation
  • First-time attendees or attendees from under-represented groups
  • Recommendation and support from the faculty Advisor

Selected awardees will receive:

  • 4-night complementary housing at the conference hotel in a room shared with another student of the same gender.
  • A full conference registration waiver.

Students and their Advisors are expected to secure additional funding from other sources to support travel and subsistence costs.
